Ornament Pillow

Yes, another pillow!  I really wanted to get some practice cutting fabric on the new Cameo.  These ornaments were so cute and I thought they'd look perfect on a pillow!

Blue Christmas Sled

For some reason I can't resist an old sled when I see one.  Yes, I did decorate another one for the front porch, but I figured why not make one up for in the house.  As you can see this one started out red, so I painted it blue to go in the front foyer.  After my paint was dry, I added a bow, some christmas greens, and an ornament to spruce it up!  It's finally almost time get the Christmas decorations out, I can't wait!

Holiday Pillow

So this week I've really been on a serious pillow streak.  While playing around with my new Silhouette machine, I decided the fabric cutter would help me out with a few holiday pillows.  I first found this image on the Silhouette software program. After applying the heat transfer interfacing, I ironed it right on! As far as the pillow itself, I bought it brand new, saving me the work of sewing one from scratch!  Can't wait to display this one!

Family Subway Art

I'm so excited, I just got a new Silhouette Cameo!  For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a cutting machine and software program to design and cut just about anything.  Including paper, fabric, vinyl, and that's just the surface of what else this machine can do!   As you can see, I was so excited to start using it!   To start, I took an old piece of scrap plywood out in the garage and painted it white.  I than found a bunch of coordinating craft paper.  Finally, I got to put the Silhouette to use.  I cut out all of our names and a few other family words to fill in.  After my words were done, I played around with the layout before attaching them for good.  When I happy with my layout, I took one word off at a time and put a light coat of Mod Podge down on my plywood.  After putting the letters back on, I applied another coat of Mod Podge over the top.  There was one open spot where I added a few fabric flowers.

It was a good way to experiment with my new toy!

Mason Jar Soap Dispenser

I've seen these soap dispensers on pinterest and I had so many mason jars sitting around I thought I'd give it a try.  All you have to do is poke a hole in the cover of your mason jar and stick the head of an old dispenser in the hole.  To secure the head on for good, I bought some gorilla glue epoxy. Apply the glue where the neck reaches the jar cover. This whole project takes about ten minutes.  Such a cute and simple project!

Book Page Wreath

 Yes, another wreath.  I'm starting to wonder where I'm going to go with them all.  When I did my Weekly Top 10 on wreaths last week, I guess I was inspired.  For this one, I first cut out a circle out of a piece of cardboard.   

Next, I started rolling my book pages.Overall it took around 40 pages.  After your book pages are done, hot glue them on in a circular motion.  When my wreath was complete, I added a badge to the center by folding a piece of craft paper as you see in the photo.

I very lightly attached a snowflake to the center, allowing me to pull it off and change it out when needed.  As I said earlier, now I just need to find a place for this one!

Now that the Christmas season is finally here, I thought I'd share some products that I absolutely love!  For a few of my girlfriend gift exchanges, we do a favorite things theme.  It's not always as easy as it would seem!  I have so many favorite things, how do I pick just one?  So I thought I'd share some of my ideas with you!

Holiday Burlap Wreath

I've seen so many of these burlap wreaths and I've always wanted to make one of my own.  I started by buying a metal wreath ring and two rolls of burlap ribbon.  The process is so simple.

You start by pulling small loops threw each of the three gaps in the ring.   Work your way around the ring, pushing the fabric aside to give it the fullness you desire.   

After I was done, I found a peace sign that I had and thought it fit the wreath perfectly.I didn't want to glue my sign on for good, allowing me to change it out seasonally.  To attach it, I glued a twist tie to the back to wire it on.  I also added a felt poinsettia, a bow, and a few christmas greens.  Now I have a beautiful wreath I'll be able to use all year round!

 I won't lie, this wreath was the most time consuming craft I ever made!  I started by making endless loops of yarn.  It took a lot of hours in front of the TV!  I honestly couldn't tell you how many loops it took in the end.  I suppose I should have counted!

 After my loops were all made, I started tying them on to my metal wreath ring. As you get close to the end, you might need to fill in depending on how full you want it.  When my wreath was done, I added a bow to coordinate with where I planned on putting it and hung an ornament to give it that holiday sparkle!

Halloween Treat

Halloween Treat's for this year!  It's always hard to choose what to make, with endless cute ideas out there.  I decided to go with chocolate covered pretzel rods.  I had so many halloween sprinkles, I thought this would be a great way to use them up!  As for the labels, I found them at Creative Cain Cabin.  The kids loved them, who doesn't like pretzels and chocolate?

Magnet Boards

I had made these long before I started blogging, so unfortunately I don't have any pictures of what they looked like before.  For both of them, the backing is a old tin picture we had laying around here.  I used a spray adhesive to attach the fabric to the front and hot glue to secure the fabric edges in the back.  I spruced up the front with a few flowers and used buttons for my magnets.

This poor, little lamp was being neglected, sitting on a shelf in the basement.  The base used to be pink, so I spray painted it white to give it a new home in my kitchen.  I had the black shade which fit perfectly.  I added a few fabric flowers, a burlap leaf, and of course a jewel to dress it up!  I looks adorable in my kitchen and one less thing, taking up space in the basement!
