Burlap Ribbon Coin Purse

Every time I'm at the store and I see these awesome burlap ribbons and I can't resist buying them.  With this one I decided to make a coin purse.   It was so simple, just a few short stitches.  Everybody needs a coin purse, so why not make your own, and make it with an adorable burlap ribbon?

Looks pretty easy, doesn't it?
As for making it, start by folding your ribbon into the approximate size you are going to want your coin purse, adding about an inch for your hem.  After cutting, hem both ends of your ribbon.  Simply fold the pocket end up and stitch the side ends, leaving your flap on top to fold down.  Add a button or snap for closure, and any extra decor to match your ribbon.  Now how simple was that?  Right!!

Bike Makeover

Unfortunately Rory's bike was run over and didn't survive!  Which meant I was on a search for a new bike.  I came across this little bike for only $2.00 that was in need of some desperate attention.  In the end, it turned out adorable!

Before!!
(Now you understand what I mean by needing some attention!)
 After!!
I started out by taking the bike apart and sanding all of the rust off.   After that, I spray painted all of the pieces on by one.  When they were dry, I put the bike back together.  The seat was still looking pretty rough, so I decided to cover it with duct tape.  I still looked like it needed something else, so I added a little bow made out of duct tape to match the seat.  She loved it and was out riding again in no time!

Burlap Button Monogram

I recently made this for one of my girlfriends weddings, using it for her guest book.  Such a simple projects and turned out so beautifully!!  Who knew some burlap and a pile of old buttons could turn out so gorgeous!
Burlap Button Monogram

More button art!!  It's probable one of my favorite projects to work on.  They turn out so beautiful and elegant looking!
I found my frame at goodwill, which makes it a pretty inexpensive project.  I covered the backing in burlap and made a template for the letter.  Glueing button after button, eventually it turned into this!!
You have so many options to match any decor.  I made one for each of my daughters rooms, one in red and one in pink!

Embroidery Hoop Catch All

What a great way to keep track of notes or mail.  And all with just an embroidery hoop and some fabric.  You don't even have to get your sewing machine out.  Makes a great catch all for anywhere in the house!
Embroidery Hoop Catch All

Lately I've been coming across quite a few of these embroidery hoop catch alls.  I thought it's such a great idea and I had quite a few of them laying around anyway.  This aqua polka dot fabric I've had for ages and was just waiting for the perfect project to come along.  And here it was!!  I paired it with the reds and pinks to match my daughters room.  Simplest project ever, so cute and useful at the same time.  To make it you lay out your fabric onto the small hoop as you want them to lay as a finished product.  As for the seams of the fabric, I just folded them over and used fabric glue to secure them.  After layed out, simply put your large hoop back on, tighten, and hot glue your excess fabric to the back.
Cute, huh?
